AARP Legal Counsel for the Elderly
Since our doors opened in 1975, Legal Counsel for the Elderly has been "Making a Difference in the District" as the leading provider of free legal services for vulnerable D.C. seniors — championing the dignity and rights of Washington's elderly and helping more than 5,000 older neighbors each year. Reflecting the diversity of our community, more than 90% of those we serve are persons of color, and nearly three out of four seniors who come to us for help are low-income women.

LCE is often the first — and almost always the last — line of defense for the city’s most at-risk elders. Our hands-on, community-based efforts stop foreclosures, prevent evictions, aid those victimized by scams and predators, stand up for residents of D.C.’s nursing homes, and much more — empowering, defending and protecting our older neighbors in need. Help us help them. Support LCE.
