The mission of Capital Breast Care Center is to provide culturally appropriate breast cancer screening services and health and wellness education guided by evidence –based practices to all women in the Washington, DC, area regardless of their ability to pay.

The District of Columbia has some of the highest rates of breast cancer mortality in the nation. Women in this community-especially low-income, minority women face many barriers to receiving breast cancer screening services and health education. Capital Breast Care Center (CBCC) of Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center was founded in 2004 to ensure that women in the DC area receive the breast care they need.
