theatreWashington is the only organization dedicated solely to promoting, representing, and supporting Washington’s professional theatre community—theatres, artists, company members, and audiences of all ages—and our community as a whole.

What We Do:

• We help bring critical arts education services to area children by serving as a clearinghouse for the region’s 90+ theatre education programs.
• We advocate for Washington theatres to help progress important issues and quell those that could be damaging.
• We support Washington actors, designers, technicians, administrators, production personnel, theatre leaders, and board members with personal and professional resources.
• We honor excellence on area stages with the annual presentation of the Helen Hayes Awards.

Your contribution helps to maintain and build the health of nearly 80 professional theatre companies to ensure that people of all ages, economic levels, and ethnic backgrounds have the opportunity to experience live theatre.
